Same Storm - Different Boats. The Harsh Truth

The global pandemic is affecting businesses in many different ways
Some of us will sink
Some of us will manage to survive
Some of us will thrive.

What happens to us will be partly luck and partly what we do.

And that’s the key – it’s about what we, as business owners, chose to do. Sure, we can lobby our governments to get support, handouts, grants, tax deferments and so on, but that which really counts is up to us.

It’s up to us if we delegate our success to others
It’s up to us if we simply wait for things to get better
It’s up to us if we wait for governments to tell us how to run our businesses
It’s up to us if we plan for the future
It’s up to us if we understand what’s the same and what’s new
It’s up to us if we adjust our product-market fit
It’s up to us.

We need to plan to support our staff
We need to plan to be flexible - we may need to close down again
We need to plan to make it's safe for clients to interact with us
We need to plan to rebuild customer confidence
We need to plan based on the market reality
We need to plan and inspire
We need to plan.

It’s up to us
We need to plan.

It’s time to get moving again
What are you planning to do?
